Hello, We are a family of 4 my husband and I and our two kids we are moving from Georgia because of my husbands job. He will be working at Uptown and we are looking to rent a house in a family friendly neighborhood with good public elementary schools around. Our budget is around $1,000. We looked at houses in Kannapolis but it is a little bit far from his job. I don't mind to live in the suburbs but closer to uptown. Thanks!

Take a look in Moss Creek. What size house are you looking for?

I second that if you're on a tight budget. You husband can take the CATS express bus from Gastonia/Belmont and you can find more affordible choices in Gaston county.

You really have to step up to $1300 or above to get a single family house in south Mecklenburg in a good neighborhood. Or compromise and lease an apartment or townhome... Even that will probably be $1000 to $1100 for a 3 BR.

Thank you all for your replies, I won't mind a town-home at all I will even settle for a two bed. two bath., at least for the first year. I hope I can get a job soon and get something more comfortable when we can afford it. (Our kids schools are the priority). I will check those areas. I appreciate the feedback!
