None of Charlotte's hopeful projects that applied for federal grants were approved. Today's denial is for the grant block that the City pinned the success of the extension on. According to reports the inside view apparently is this isn't a big deal and it will happen.

Smoke and mirrors Foxx did not want to be seen giving anything to Charlotte so soon in office, they will reapply and get a grant later.

Mr. Foxx doesn't seem like the type of person to put his reputation in front of a train for Charlotte, especially if we deserved it. Is that what he did?

No, the Federal Government is finally looking at projects that make sense. Charlotte makes no sense.

I'm not a fan of the guy but the news reported that A. Fox was not involved in the decision as he had recused himself from any matters involving Charlotte for 1 year after taking on his new role.

Funny how quickly Foxx forgot about Charlotte when he got to DC.

Would you care to elaborate and provide statistical data that supports why Project A makes more sense than Project B sense you seem to be directly involved in the technical and economical merit decision making process. Are you implying that the so-called "dysfunctional" fed gubment has come to its senses?

It's called a conflict of interest and would've been raked over the coals for being involved in any matters related to Charlotte....don't you think?

Hm? If you're saying that the Federal Government didn't help Charlotte because of the streetcar project, then that doesn't make sense. Kansas City and Atlanta both got funds for their streetcar projects through these funds. Charlotte could re-apply again next year, and we could win some grant money, granted that we aren't out ranked by more important projects in the US. We were likely overlooked this time because we already have a streetcar line under construction now (completely funded), and places like Kansas City were given grants because they don't have a line yet.
