I guess "Snuggie" is not feeling so snuggie this morning having been blown away by a Cannon - as it were in the Democrat primary here in Charlotte. "Snuggie" killed a lot of trees with his barrage of slick flyers stuck in mail boxes over the past few weeks. I wanted to say "enough already."

I suspect Cannon got a lot of unaffiliated votes that went to the D side for the primary. It was a surprise that Mitchell only carried one precinct in his Council district. THAT should tell him something.

Guess Harvey Gantt's endorsement didn't help him much.

Pickering lost to Fallon for 4th place on the D slate. It did not seem like Pickering was really interested in winning again. Although it was a citywide primary I think local politics played a role. Pickering was vulnerable to have switched sides on the streetcar but live in Ballantyne where people never cared much for it... Fallon was being protective of funding for the northeast LYNX line last year and her more skeptical stance on the streetcar fit better with her local area.
