New to the area moved in May 07 first yr here away from home and wanted to know what is out there fr family xmas things to due have 4 children 14, 7, 3 & 3 months who love xmas and family xmas things to do. Back home in RI we had Lasalette which was xmas lights is there something like that here ???

IF you don't mind traveling AND have a pocket full of money, Christmas at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville is fantastic! The admission price is expensive, but they pull out all stops.

An awesome light display is The Festival of Lights (http://www.co.forsyth.nc.us/Tanglewood/fol_info.aspx - broken link) (scroll down to see pictures from past events). It's about one and a half hours north of Charlotte.
