My family has this awful virus with 104 temps & sore throats & some nausea. Does anyone know how long this is lasting? The dr confirmed it's a virus but I forgot to ask the average length. I know someone else who just came down with it too. Thanks.

All common cold and flu variants commonly last 2 days to 2 weeks(I didn't Google this, I get lots of them). I've had some like you describe, they usually last around 5 days sometimes with a nasty cold that trails for up to 8 days.

There is no cure, but these are the proven remedies:
1.Cough syrup with the most sleep ingredient. Daytime syrups only have a decongestant and fever reducer
2.Steam sinus congestion, blowing wears out nose, vapors just make it run a lot and eyes burn and water, sprays last minutes
3.Try to sweat it out with work or steamy bath or shower, this was the proven method before modern chemistry. Don't do it while on a heavy fever; bed and cool drinks for that, with other symptoms they go away while you're active and this happens inside 10 minutes especially sweaty work; I can get out of very bad stuffy head just working fast; like chopping wood or running.
