And the area around looks like it has a lot of potential. That would be a great place for some midrise condos and or apartments with some great views of the city! Anyone know anything about it?

Standard Pacific Homes is building very nice townhomes and single family homes in Brightwalk.

I spent a few hours there back in early Aug. talking with a sales rep and looking at models. Anyone familiar with this area would know it sits next to some low income, high crime areas. One of the main roads through Brightwalk is used by the neighboring communities to get to the basketball court in Anita Stroud Park, on the southern edge of Brightwalk. Let me tell you, it was quite noisy, with loud rap music and lots of shouting. Strike one. Strike two is the fact there isn't any good grocery stores nearby. There's Wayne's Supermarket on N Graham but that's not what I would consider a nice grocery store in a safe area. The closest Harris Teeter would be in uptown.

Although this property sits on the northern edge of uptown, there are virtually no city views that I could see. Maybe when the leaves fall, but not now. I noticed the top crown of the BoA tower from one of the 2nd floor units but that was about as good as the city views were.

Living close to uptown is beneficial to anyone that works or plays there on a consistent basis. The condos at Brightwalk were nice inside, and seemed of quality construction. I'm just not ready to chance my safety in a "transitional" area at this point in my life. This may not be an issue with most people though.
