My Husband and I just leased a place out uptown and will be moving in soon. We are from the area but haven't spent alot of our time uptown. Wanted to know some details about the Fourth Ward area, specifically we are moving off of 6th and McDowell. Any thoughts or interesting feedback helps.

6th and McDowell is near Quarterside apartments. That particular area is actually 1st ward, not 4th. What is it you wish to know about the area?

I'm your secret neighbor. The area is definitely 1st ward.

It's uptown so I can walk to work. Post office and library are close. Harris Teeters are also close. The area has been safe and I don't worry while walking around. I don't have a car so I take the bus when needed and there are at least 3 different bus stops on or near McDowell. Also, the highway is really close.

I don't have kids so I don't know about public schools in the area but there is a ritzy private school down from 8th & McDowell.

Overall, I like living in the area.
