Greetings!
What do you think of San Antonio? If you recently had to move to Charlotte area from San Antonio, would you move back to San Antonio, if given the opportunity? If "yes" to this question, why?! Also, if "NO, no way", why?

What were your likes/dislikes? I am interested in both the cultural aspects, and the physical aspects re bicycling, hiking, etc. (Our kids are in college; so schools and the like are not an issue. This is not a "retirement" move, by the way.)

What I know....'have been to the Riverwalk. Ok, enough said.
It is the 4th hottest city in the USA. Are there 4 seasons?
Single dwelling housing, and Taxes----> please elaborate. Do houses have basements, in that geography?

Ok, please give me the skinny!! Thank you, in advance!!

P.S. Yes, I know that this is the Charlotte thread.

I'm from Austin. San Antonio was like my second home because of proximity.

I think one thing San Antonio and Charlotte share is they're both great cities for families. Charlotte tends to be a more serious business city, while San Antonio seems to be more of a tourist spot, IMO.

Why are you posting this here?

Want to get perspective on San An from someone who may have moved to CLT from San An. Sometimes "hindsight is the best sight", as they say.

I didn't move directly from San Antonio to Charlotte, but I did live in SA when I was younger.
I'd gladly move back there if circumstances permitted.
San Antonio is oozing with personality, history, culture and fantastic places to eat......all things that Charlotte lacks IMO.
