Extended Stay in the Concord Mills area. It's not really a residential area, but it is totally safe and clean and convenient. I've stayed there for a prolonged period (for work) and was happy with it.

There's also an Extended Stay on WT Harris toward Northlake, but I can't speak directly to the quality of that one.

I have stayed at both I like the Concord one better - we stayed there when we sold our home and needed a place for a couple weeks.

Yeah, I was there for about three months and was surprised at how quiet it was, considering it is right on Bruton Smith Blvd. I think that'd be a great option for the OP.

Your friends in Stallings won't let you crash on the couch?

While that would be awesome, it is probably asking a bit too much of them. I have the Suburban extended stay in my back pocket but am going to research a couple of rental units I have seen. I will probably post a new thread to try to get wider feedback on the complexes.

I am taking a long distance look at Harrisburg and I am wondering if the racetrack being so close should be a concern. I have no sense for how far the sound of the track will travel. There are nice developments going up south of 49 but is that too close to the track if I don't want to deal with any noise or traffic issues?

The noise from the racetrack is not really a consideration unless you are on the north side of Highway 49. The main development that sits there is Rocky River Crossing (lived there when we first moved to Harrisburg). The race is only 2x per year so its not like you hear noise every weekend. They do testing on some weekends but again its not often you will hear the noise. On the south side of Highway 49 along Robinson Church Road, Rocky River Road, Stallings Road, etc you are very much removed from the race noise (and traffic) and you do not hear anything.
