My family and I are relocating to Charlotte, NC from NJ and need to know what areas are bad in Charlotte, NC? Also, would it be cheaper finding an apartment close to Charlotte instead of living in Charlotte? Our church home is in Charlotte and we need to be within 30 minutes of there for commuting purposes. What other areas could we consider moving to? We have two teenage sons, one is 12 and one is 15.

Bad? I thought Charlotte was a wonderland where kittens and puppies danced on rainbows to music played by unicorns? Just joshin-I'm assuming you meant to post this in the North Carolina forum. I'm sure the mods will move it for you so you'll get some helpful responses.

Now I know what that noise was last night

Check out cmpd crime report and you can make the decision what is safe to your likings since what is safe for one person is different that someone else also we do know where your church home is in order to suggest areas close to that location.

Kai, I think that you should know that there is a lot of tongue in cheek going on here. Disregard anything that you read. I think these folks, like all good southerners, are getting high on the thought of pecan and sweet potato pie.

I spent quite a few years in Charlotte, NC and it is a great town. I am uncertain of the bad areas, however South Park, the university area and Mathews are very nice for families.

Good luck to you!
