Any recommendations for Puerto Rico travel around Christmas? I am thinking we need travel agents but not sure... Any travel agents that do a good job in getting competitive pricing?

Specifically looking for decent airfares, good beach resorts for kids etc

Thanks.

We were looking at Puerto Rico right after Xmas as well but prices are just too high, we'll wait till the son's Martin Luther King break in January when it's much more reasonable IMO. I wasn't using an agent, just the standard travel sites as I prefer to do my own.

Its a little late for Christmas in Puerto Rico. My family lives there and we go about 2x a year during the summer and right before new years.

This time of year will also be the most expensive airfare and most expensive hotel stays and rental car options.

In terms of places to stay... are you looking to stay in a resort the entire time? I know there are a few around the island but not being a fan of them I wouldn't be able to tell you which is better. You can also stay away from the metropolitan area and go to the west end of the island in Rincon. Its much less expensive and there are some great family hotels in that town. We stayed at one called The Lazy Parrot and there were a lot of families. There's also Hotel Cofresi and that's right on the water.

With the internet you really don't need a travel agent to find the beat prices.

I did notice that air fare prices are about 30% higher than usual this year.

Just FYI, a lot of places it looks like will have some travel deals as Cyber Monday offers, including at least one to PR. I'm definitely going to be taking a closer look and hopefully booking.
