I'd be thrilled to get EITHER a Trader Joe's or a Whole Foods in the Greenville area...anyone out there agree? If so please email both at their websites...maybe we can rally enough support.

thank goodness!

one of the things that struck me as odd about this city is the lack of "alternative" foods stores on this side of town (University area).

most of them seem to be concentrated closer to Dilworth.

I have had a hard time finding alternative food stores as well. I have yet to find wheat grass anywhere.

I'm not sure... It will be less than a half mile up the street from us and I drive by the site a few times a week. Next time I'm up there I'll check out the "coming soon" sign.

Howdy everyone. I've driven past the Trader Joe's spot many times since this post and don't have anything new to add. Sorry...

I hope it's there before the end of '07. Bloom has a small but nice selection of organic produce and some other goodies but it isn't in my immediate neighborhood.

Don't know about South Park -- there is going to be one on Rea Road in South Charlotte (near Piper Glen) where the Harris Teeter used to be.

Last October, forum member "lovesmountains" posted:

"It was in the Charlotte Observer that they plan to open early next year in the old Harris Teeter on Rea Rd at Piper Glen".
