Default Thinking of Moving from DE

I am looking to move and have no clue where to go. I am a single mother and want some where with a lot to do, yet safe and family oriented. Diversity is a big deal to me. Is there a lot of racism, or crime in Charlotte? If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

Where in Delaware are you? We love it there! In fact we vacation in BB quite often. Why would you want to leave?

Please don't buy into stereotypes about the south. Thery're they're very unfair and simpley not true. I can't tell you how many people I've talked to over the years who've moved here from NY, NJ, CA, and other palces and said how "shocked" (in a good way) they were at how untrue they're idea of the south was. It's not perfect, but neither is any other place. It's still better than most areas of the country. I've lived here all of my life (41 yrs.) and people of all types get along well. You're going to find idiots and racists in ANY part of the country and among ALL racial groups. But fortunately, most all people are very good and accepting. I think what most here in NC/SC feel is we don't have to agree on everthing all of the time in order to get along and care for one another. I am a very devout christian and go to a large pentacostal church, and there are many mixed race couples at my church, even different combinations (white/black, asian/balck, indian/white, ect). Trust me, you'll do just fine here.

With that being said, what are you looking for exactly in the town you're wanting to move to? Where I live (Concord, NE of Charlotte) is very nice. Other good choices would be Harrisburg (NE of Charlotte), Mooresville (north of Charlotte), and Ft. Mill (south of Charlotte). All of these towns are safe, have very good schools, and have low costs of living. If you need any more help or questions, just post and we'll be more than willing to give you a hand. Good luck in your search!!!

ms wood,
As stated this is a very diverse area. people are very genuine and so friendly. I moved here from Florida and still am amazed at the friendliness as compared to where I came from.
If I can be of any assistance just let me know. I am a realtor and can get info to you, no obligation of any sort, just would love to help you out.
