Default BoA / Wachovia

Hello All.

I have been keeping my eye on jobs with both the corporate offices of BoA and Wachovia. Does anyone have any experience with either? I currently work for a large financial services firm in CT that has a great culture. I was wondering if I might be able to get some insight to either company from an "insider".

Thanks!

My wife works for Wachovia and we have plenty of friends that work for BoA what exactly are you trying to find out?

Both seem to be doing plenty of offshoring right now.

My husband is in uptown. He started with First Union when we moved here in 1998 and somehow (knock on wood) was able to make it through all the changes/restructurings, etc. He works in trade support.

Well, I would probably be working in the Corporate Division, so I was hoping to get an idea of it is "typical corporate" (long hours, weekends, "stuffy" attitudes, etc). I know they are very large companies, and that every area within them would probably be different, but I would like the opinion of some insiders.

Thanks again.

My husband too. Small world it is. Great company to work for (very family oriented) but I have yet to see my husband come home sooner than 7pm. Guess you have to take the good with the bad.

Ha Same here. My husband works the same number of hours he did in NY but he's home a lot more since the commute time is cut in half...and people think we live far from uptown now. Guess it's just a matter of perspective

And yet a small world again. We just officially relocated from NY last month (Long Island). My husband's commute time is just about the same as it was in NY (~35 minutes) which he doesn't mind.
