"Part of the amended redistricting plan includes grandfathering in current 4th and 7th graders (for next year only) and all current high school students through graduation; but only for those families that are able to provide their own transportation. Yercheck has said that the “experts” agree this will not impact traffic around our schools. We’ve reached out to NCDOT and confirmed that there were no traffic studies conducted regarding this amendment. Like the rest of this redistricting plan, this amendment was rushed through blindly without any due diligence.
If the BOE refuses to do any traffic studies or testing, we’ve decided to do it for them. Tuesday morning, April 1, 2014. We are asking all parents of grandfathered students to forego riding the bus and drive your kids to school that morning. Here’s the tricky part. We all agree that having this many cars on the road around our schools is not safe; yet here we are asking you to drive on the roads. The fact is, the BOE wants you to do this every morning for the next 1-3 years, without them doing a proper traffic study, we don’t see any other alternative but to show them exactly what it will look like.
Please, drive safely. If your children are new drivers, we ask you to drive them yourselves. We want to prove our point with long lines, not with traffic accidents and injuries. The BOE isn’t concerned about the safety of our kids, but we are."

Don't worry about the traffic on Tuesday. Apparently, only seven people are doing this.
