OR, maybe just maybe, slow the growth by sending new people to schools out of their area? What would happen if people moving to the area knew they would go to SV or Parkwood? Think that might slow growth a little bit?... and the argument about buses doesn't matter. At the end of the day transportation has very little influence on the upcoming decisions.

But if that happened who would get hurt?... the developers.

It's not hard to put all of this together. Protect developers, redistribute test scores, and push $'s.

There are also comments from Dr. McKibben that will be coming forth in the upcoming weeks. Wonder what he thinks of all this?
wow - I just caught this... interesting approach. I'm concerned that you feel it's a stretch to agree the schools are crowded, though - but that aside. At least you admit it for a minute! lol

Keep going with that line of thinking...you still have to take kids out of the already crowded schools. How do you choose?

The more I read your opinions the more I believe your beef is with the BOCC, not the BOE.

BTW - McKibben is an interesting phenomenon. Many are looking to debunk his work, call out mistakes, sloppy work, etc. Do you think McKibben's forecasting is accurate?

I'm curious if you asked to have your son moved to a school with empty seats? Surely you would have gladly sacrificed going to your neighborhood school for smaller classes.

I hope that we can all think beyond book learning when considering education.

I get the /sarcasm there!

We all knew - we have eyes. Anyone even remotely involved with their kids knew the schools were busting at the seams.

We chose to ignore it hoping it would go away - seeing the construction around us. The difference is that suddenly we really cared when we popped up on the wrong side of a line... and only then did we start looking to get to the bottom of all this hokey pokey!

So that's why this is all so sudden and fast... and it's like WHOA WHOA... slow down. This is shocking!

Oh, it's my understanding they also have students in trailers at Parkwood High School... not sure how that's possible given they have empty seats.
Correlation does not imply causation. Are you saying that the more overcrowded the school, the better?

Just curious Waxhawmom….i do believe the BOE would allow you to transfer your son to a school that is underpopulated. Have you inquired as to that possibility of moving your son to a school that virtually assures him a seat in a classroom. A little inconvenience doesn't compare to the peace of mind you would have

Outstanding.

He knows what the causation is. It was addressed 20-30 pages ago I think.

Some smart people in here now.

Nope, I'm saying that class size doesn't correlate to better education as some here have implied.

SunshineCJ….Redistrict me, don't redistrict me. I don't care. There is no perversion here. The UCPS and BoE need recognize the overcrowding issue with some kind of plan sooner rather than later because those private school and charter school apps need to be mailed before spring break as many of you know and there aren't a lot of spots out there.

Sunshine….if your little snowflakes are getting crushed by the nasty ole snowplow, have you thought about proactively moving them to a more open meadow so they have a seat with less crowding?

I may not have a law degree (cough, cough) but, Yes, already have the applications. Just like some are ready to sell or explore other options.

Got to watch that copy, paste from FB.
