Hi!

My husband and I will have the opportunity soon to go out at night in uptown Charlotte, since I haven't been around there yet. We're really not into the club scene anymore; just something nice to do---nice restaurant, maybe a cool comedy club or jazz/acoustic music club (with not a lot of crazy drunk people around...)

Any suggestions?

Yep...go to Mickey and Mooches in the Arboretum....my wife and I love it there....great atmosphere, more food than you can eat, live music, jazz or piano...you can call.....(I'm making myself hungry)

oops, you said uptown....try Blue....

Blue is a great suggestion. After dinner you can hang out and listen to the live Jazz.

Blue is decent. Madison's for music is good. There is also a jazz club on Church St-- House of Jazz. Monticello has jazz Fri and Sat nights. Cosmo's is a bit louder, but you could head upstairs for martinis. On Elizabeth Ave is Loft 1523 with live music. Down the road on S Blvd is Tutto Mundo, for a thirties crowd with a DJ.

Blue is nice, but the Bar is small and can get crowded real fast, i will recommend you to try Pewter Rose, it s Right at the intersection of East and South. Pewter Rose Bistro They have live Music from wednesday to saturday i believe.

If you want to venture away from uptown, try Carpe Diem. I think that it has some of the best food in Charlotte.
