Default Tradeshows and Events in January and February, 2008

Hi Folks,

Do you know if there are any big tradeshows or some kind of big event coming to the Charlotte area around January and February , 2008? I have been trying to plan a trip and there seems to be very limited availability for the hotels in the Charlotte area. Just curious. Thanks.

I know of one: Dixie Gun and Knife Classic Gun Shows

Charlotte is big enough that no single event will fill all hotels. Are you trying to stay downtown? You may want to look in the Southpark area: Doubletree Guest Suites Charlotte North Carolina Hotel - Southpark Area Hotel - Charlotte, NC Hotels One of the nicest parts of Charlotte and central to everything. Or try Ballantyne Resort: Ballantyne Resort Hotel and Spa - Charlotte NC It's immediately off of I-485 with easy access to anywhere in south Charlotte. You will also be close to the new rail line if that's your fancy.

I just went to the Dixie show here the other day and it was incredible. Tons and Tons of merchants and not all just guns and knives. Many other random trinkets and whatnot. There was even a stand selling jerky and pepperoni logs and other meats lol. For only 7 bucks it was worth it and I was there for over 3 hours.

Robb, I bring people from my company into Charlotte for business quite often and rooms are ALWAYS limited because Charlotte is a business-centered city. That is most likely the bulk of the travelers at that time.

Actually, that is making total sense to me, because it is reminding me of trying to get a place in NYC or here in Chicago. I think that is great for business, but bad for folks who are trying to travel down to Charlotte on a budget.

Again, thanks so much for chiming in. I'm hoping to snag a deal soon, so that I can get back down to the area.
