I didn't know what speedies were until rcently until someone from central nys was making them. Never heard of them while in Buffalo. Duff's is good for wings too, but then again, there aren't too many places you'll get bad wings in wny.
Back to the topic though, if cost is the concern, driving will be cheaper. I just got burned out on that drive. I lve and work not too far from the airport, so an hour on a flight vs. 12 hours in a car through mountains is a no-brainer too me. And sometimes flying is cheaper for one person, and doesn't eat up a day's worth of travel time.
We make that trip to Buffalo at least once a year for the past 25 years! We can do it in 10-11 hours depending on where you are landing in Bflo. I would plan on driving, then if by wild chance USAir still has those e-savers, check them out on Tues of that week and maybe you can jump on one of those. 77 to 19 to 70 to 90 - no other way that I know of. You will be fine and find out its not that bad!

Thanks, crystal76. With 25 years of experience, I'm sure the route you described will work out just fine!

Those esavers to Buffalo are few and far between anymore. It's almost all for regional flights since the merger w/ America West.

I'm sure you meant 77 - 19 - 79 - 90, but I'm sure they would have figured it out. The Yahoo maps or MapQuest pretty much spells out the best route. Its an easier drive than many would imagine since Buffalo and Charlotte are basically in a straight line of one another north & south.
Wings in Erie County are all decent. The Anchor has the name like Duff's.
