We are considering relocating to Davidson and would like some more information about the town:
1. We have two daughters 5,7 - what are the most family friendly neighborhoods?
2. The River Run area is beautiful and within our price range- is it an area of Davidson where families with young kids are, is the country club kid-friendly?
3. Schools- we were told to shy away from Charlotte-Meck schools, however, the schools near Davidson are rated very well.
4. We know South Charlotte is very kid friendly and has beautiful homes, however, we don't want to feel like we are in suburbia and find the town aspect as well as the college of Davidson very appealing. We just want to make sure this is a part of Charlotte that is family friendly so please feel free to share the pros/cons.

Thank you!
Pretty much all of the neighborhoods in Davidson are family friendly. Davidson is the best town IMHO in the Lake Norman area. Davidson schools are all very good. Their charter school is the holy grail of NC although dont get your hopes up to get in :-)
We visited Davidson last week (and a lot of the other towns). We LOVED Davidson. We also loved River Run. It seemed very family-friendly to me. Our realtor has 5 kids and said so many great things about the neighborhood and country club. They eat there, play tennis there, go to the pool there, etc. There's even waitstaff at the pool for drinks and lunches! There also was the Chiquita golf tournament there last year which she said was really cool for the neighborhood. I am hoping there is something in our price range when we hope to move this summer...although the higher taxes have me a little hesitant. Also had dinner downtown- really fun!
Good luck!
