I had comcast in San Francisco and they were fine. I rarely had internet outages. Pricing was in line with Time Warner, speeds were in line, etc. I didn't have to call them much, so customer service isn't an issue for me.

I have time warner now, and it was great for the first couple months but it's been iffy-at-best for the last month. I consistently lose my internet and have to call them to refresh to signal. Last night they said it might be a router issue, so I'll try using my old router to see how that works. Otherwise though, I see virtually no difference between the two companies.

I doubt it'll lead to much change. As far as I know, they didn't compete in a single market so I don't see any Monopoly issue. On the other hand, I doubt comcast will suddenly improve the infrastructure here, so I doubt the service will get better right away.

This map from FCC is a great tool to see which cable company has coverage on what area.

If you soon into NC and Charlotte area you will see that it's spread between TWC and Charter. Both are worst in terms of customer satisfaction ratings.
