Unfortunately our go-to mechanic has left the area. I would prefer recommendations for establishments do not thrive on up-selling, i.e. trying to convince me to purchase add-on services that I do not need/want. My car needs an oil change...that's all. TIA.
I take my vehicle to Summerville Auto in Waxhaw. They have other locations as well. I have been quite happy with them. They always call before doing anything and have been honest with me in the past about things that could "wait" and things that needed to be done immediately. They also have worked with me on bigger jobs. They open early and always manage to get my car fixed same day.
Thank you all for your responses. I ended up at A&M AutoService in Pineville, not in South Charlotte/Waxhaw. This was based on a tip from a friend. They were not easy to find (off of Downs Road), but very friendly, great service and no "up-selling". I am going to give Summerfield a try...next time.
