Hey Everybody,

I am relocating to the Charlotte area in the summer of 07' . Just like everybody moving to another state the issue is affordable housing and low crime. I have pretty much lived in decent neighborhoods all my life in NYC & I know we will have incidents wherever we go, it's just something we can't hide from. I have been searching and I am thinking about moving to a subdivision with Single Family Homes in (I guess you would call it ) North Charlotte. Relatively close or right off of University City Blvd. Can someone be perfectly straightforward and honest about what they know about this area. I know we all have different standards of living, but is there anything that anyone feels that I should reconsider. Or even point me in a direction of good neighborhoods, people and or surroundings. I don't live in Charlotte and I honestly don't want to go by what I'm hearing based on Crime and/or other activities that I have not seen. Ay info given will be greatly appreciated.

See yah in the summer

I live in Concord, just accross the city/county line of the area Charlotte you're talking about. I'd suggest Concord or Harrisburg. The crime's low, the schools are some of the best in NC, very family-friendly, cost of living is lower, and we're close to everything Charlotte has to offer. Good liuck in your search!!!

University is a fun area. It all depends on what you want to spend.

You are most likely looking at the University area - not North Charlotte. But can you give us a street name so we can better advise you?
