We are trying to relocate from the Midwest to North Carolina. We know the state has much to offer our family, but until now we had focused our attention on the triangle area. my husband may have a better job offer from Charlotte though, so now we need to know.... will we fit in and where?

Charlotte has much of those. The farmers market near our Airport is excellent. If you are really into homeopathic stuff, Asheville might need to be on the list too.
Charlotte has many on your list and has awesome parks/greenways as well. Interesting though at first glance in certain parts won't give that vibe. But it's there.
