So I got the job I was interviewing for, and now we have roughly three and a half weeks to find a place to live!

Of the six or seven complexes I contacted, Camden Sedgebrook was the first to call me back - anyone familiar with this area/complex? The rents seem pretty reasonable and it appears to be in a nice area, but I want to hear some honest opinions from people who've actually seen it before I call them back and they start the sales pitch. We may not have time to make a visit before we have to move, so I need as much help as I can get!

The complex is on Sedgebrook Lane in Huntersville, if that helps any. Does any one live there or near there? Would it be a good place for a young family? I'll be working from home, so commute isn't an issue. We want to make sure it's a safe area, and that we won't have problems with getting things fixed. That kind of stuff.

TIA!

Hi!

We currently live in Camden Sedgebrook, and it's been nice. We are only on a two month lease (we close on a new home at the end of Dec) and this was just an "in between-old- home-and-new-home stop". Having lived in apts before (In Novi, MI, in Cary, NC and now in Camden in Huntersville), this is the NICEST apartment we've ever had. The apt we have is a 2-bedroom with 2 full bath, nice living/dining layout. The kitchen "FEELS" small, because my kitchen at the old house was HUGE -- but that is just me, I am sure, and for an apt kitchen, it's not bad at all! The bathrooms have TONS of space, as do all the closets, and maintenance was only called for once (for a leak in the shower -- WE could have caulked it 1-2-3, but figured it was better to call and let the apt complex do it). They were prompt, courteous, and did a great job.

They also have valet trash -- put your trash out at night, and they'll pick it up -- so you never have to go to the dumpster. It's a nice perk. Also, the units come with washer/dryer hook ups, which was nice for us, since we own a washer dryer. I can't imagine heading for the laundromat, so this is a nice perk for us, too.

We are very pleased, overall, with our stay here, and the proximity to Birkdale Village (GREAT SHOPPING!!!!) is a HUGE bonus.

I would recommend this complex to anyone looking for nice apt living.

Oh, and they also have 1 car garages for rent, I think it's an extra $100 a month -- which worked great for us, as we didn't need to rent a storage unit for all our extra stuff.

Good Luck!

We lived in this complex while we were waiting for our house (9 months) to be built and it was the best complex we've ever stayed in. We had the townhouse type option, which was 2 bedrooms and 2 baths with vaulted ceilings, a loft space, the biggest master closet I've ever had (sadly the one in our house isn't even that big), and a nice size kitchen and laundry room. The only downside was trying to move furniture in/out up the first flight of stairs because of the tight turn from the front door to the main living level - on the way out we managed to put a decent size hole in the drywall by the door. We offered to have it patched, but they said not to worry and still gave us the security deposit back in full!

Good location - you can walk to Birkdale Village and the Lowe's grocery store is also a short drive. There are newer apartment complexes around, but we enjoyed our time here - the management was great and an easy location for the Cornelius/Huntersville area.
