Hi,

My husband and I (early 30s- no kids yet, but will) will be transferring to Charlotte within the year from NYC due to job relocation.

We are looking to rent for the first 6 months or so, then purchase a home in the $225- $300K range. We're both pretty open-minded (some of the borderline gay-bashing in previous posts sort of freaked me out!) We are looking for a family-friendly neighborhood with at least a few fun things for us to do for dinner, drinks, exercise- whatever... The quality of schools is also a high priority to us. My husband will be working in Uptown- I am in healthcare administration, but won't get a job until I get down to Charlotte.

Any recommendations of where to look and/or avoid based on the above information? Also any recommendations for specific apt. complexes?

Thanks so much!!

Try going online to the Charlotte Observer website. They have a real estate section where you can check out different complexes and find something in a price range you like the looks of. Then, come back here and ask us about those specific complexes and we can tell you what we know Your best bet, for better commuting is to try to find something in south Charlotte, particularly around the SouthPark area.
