any help would be appreciated.

I've searched many places but there's only like 1 or 2...and they only have up to 25yrds.

Thanks
To add to SpankysBBQ comment, Hyatts has a conceiled weapon class. After the class applicants to a range off of Sam Wilson Rd., towards the Whitewater Rafting Center. The club that has the range is probably available for joining at a reasonable rate. There is a pistol and rifle range. I think that the rifle range is 100 years. For information call Dan Starks at 704-392-7233 and he can tell you all you need to know.

Based on the condition of a lot of the road signs on most rural roads, it appears they are pretty much everywhere.

Terribly redneck shooting at signs. And dangerous, too.

I've done the orientation for Carolina & Pistol at the Waxhaw range a couple years ago. As I remember the rifle range was 300yds. There was the shotgun range, a range made out of cement block, another shorter range for sighting scopes & one for plinking with .22s. I was impressed by their facilities but the price of membership & the hoops you had to jump through, at that time, weren't worth it to me.
I understand that they've relaxed some of the requirements since I went out there...

Nowdays I shoot on private land...

The requirements aren't too stiff...but you're right on the price. But, what you get for it is valuable to an avid shooter. 24 hour access (as I understand it) to the indoor facility off 74 just past 485. That's nearly invaluable. If I'm not mistaken, after you've been in for a year and you're over your initiation fee, I think the yearly fee is only $150. I could be slightly off though. But if you ask me, the requirements and the fees keep the thug gang bangers out of the equation and you're left with responsible and mature enthusiasts.

I've used CR&PC's shotgun range since it's open to the public. And the 300 yard rifle range is what has my attention. There aren't many public ranges in the country, let alone NC, that go that far.

The draw for me was the 24/7 access to the pistol range too. But I had other priorities that took me away from joining.

True but I was told that I would not be allowed to shoot my Cobb BA50 on that range so that pretty much killed it for me.

I'm lucky I guess. My grandparents have about 80acres just outside of Mint Hill (near cabarrus county). Beside his land is his brother's 80acres.

There are a few fields...the longest open part is probably close to 300-400yards. (the fields are gradually raised for drainage so you can shoot down towards a creek-bed with a 40ft hill on the other side...no worries about shooting too high)

The best part? No restrictions! Last weekend we went out there to shoot clays. Took a couple 12ga pumps...two .40 cal (1 glock 23 and a S&W 40) and an SKS.
