Thanksgiving in Charlotte
Hi everyone! Since we have no family here, we thought we'd start a new tradition of catching the parade and a nice Turkey dinner Uptown. I just wanted some feedback/tips on the parade and any suggestions on where to eat would be greatly appreciated! Nothing too fancy, just a family style place with good homestyle cooking. Thanks in advance, y'all!

Is there a website or anywhere to get the parade info. I would like to know the route and the time. Ncmom, we were thinking of the same tradition! I can't wait to see the responses!

Just type in carrouselparade and it will come up. It starts at 1pm. Anybody with information? I'm sure somebody has been to the parade!

It IS a great parade, and a lot of fun for families. Most of us go and come back home to eat our turkey dinners. I honestly don't know of a single restaurant open in town on that day (though I'm sure there must be a few like Waffle House!)

LOL, while I'm a pretty big fan of Waffle House, I don't think eggs/grits are going to work for me on Thanksgiving!
Thanks for the reply, lovesMountains. How about tips on parking? Should we be there much earlier? How crazy does it get?
If anyone does know of nearby restaurants that serve a good Thanksgiving dinner, please share!
Thanks again!

Thanks, Charlotteagent. I've seen them around but have never been. Is the food good?
