Default TIVO and Time Warner

Does anyone have Tivo and use Time Warner Cable here in Charlotte? I was about to get the
Time Warner DVR (told my hubby that's what I wanted to get for Christmas) and after the thread on here I think I may want to go with Tivo, but want to be sure that they work nicely together! Of course now my present will cost more, but what they heck, I want it to work.
Please don't try to talk me into Dish or Direct TV, I'm happy with my Time Warner package, just want a DVR.

Thanks!

Hi

When I moved here I took on timewarner & the DVR service, after two months off using it, I contacted Tivo and got a new tivo box, I returned the DVR box to TW and swapped it for a regular digital cable box.

Tivo hands down beats the DVR service, I can even record a program tonight by requesting it online it works as I have the tivo on a network.

I can also watch recorded programs on my PC, I love tivo (and I was not the one who wanted it).

I can also record two shows at once one regular cable & one digital cable (or both regular cable)

Why not go with DISH that has superior HDTV service and a box that allows you to record 2 shows while watching another? Not to mention, what you record on one TV is available to watch on another TV. Also, the recording time for DISH is much greater than TWC. I used TWC since it was CableVision and will never go back now that I have DISH Network. MUCH more bang for your buck!

Woops, just saw that you said don't try and talk to you about DISH and Direct TV...lol...Oh well, but I'll leave this post as is for others to view. I do think you are making it more difficult than it must be by using TIVO and TWC. Dish can fix that.

The Time Warner DVR is $6.95/month (if you already have digital cable) with nothing to buy and no contracts to sign. If you already have digital cable, the TW DVR is a no brainer.

You can record two shows at once. No you can't program it online...whoopie unless you travel out of town all the time. The TW HDTV DVR (which I have) records a ton of stuff in HD format.
