Hello,

Just wondering if someone can give a briefing on crime in and around Charlotte, NC especially South Charlotte and Mathews. Thanks info is highly appreciated.

It's like anywhere else. Most places are safe. The city itself has a fairly high rate, but the south Charlotte area is pretty affluent and fairly safe. Most all of the suburban areas around Charlotte are very safe. The areas I would shy away from would be west Charlotte and some parts of east Charlotte. The best tip for anyone anywhere is to do as little at night as possible, know what areas to stay out of, and always be aware of your surroundings. I've lived here all of my life (41 years) and never had a problem (knock on wood) or felt unsafe due to always following those rules.
