Hi,
Does anyone have any first hand knowledge or experience with this hospital ? It appears to be the closest one located to Davidson. I realize for any serious health issues or treatments it will probably be necessary to go to Charlotte, or Concord. Is Lake Norman Med somewhere where you could go for emergency treatment ? Do they have doctors there who are also primary care physicians ? Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks, Bill

Other people who know more than me will hopefully chime in but I think CMC-NortEast CMC-NorthEast :: New Name, Same Great Experience would be convenient to Davidson also.

As a fellow transplant from a Northern state, I want to tell reassure you that as long as you are in the greater-Charlotte area, you will have access to wonderful healthcare. We see a variety of specialists here, and we are as happy with our options or even happier in some instances, when compared to New Jersey.

Hope to see you soon.

Sara

I work with healthcare organizations and the accrediting organization for hospitals is the Joint Commission. You can check out their reports at this site:

Hope that helps you with your decision-making for healthcare issues in regard to quality.

I have lived in Mooresville all my life. Have used Lake Norman regional on several occasions. In an emergency situation, of course you want to go to the closest hospital. Given a choice, especially from Davidson, I would use Northeast Medical Center. They are top notch. Mooresville in my opinion,is the pits.

Given a choice, I would pick Presbyterian Huntersville.

I have only had one experience with their ER and it wasn't that great. I have heard many bad things about LKN - apparently they are a for profit hospital & their billing department sucks.

Went to the ER at LNRM...I would NEVER go back if I could help it! Went in with a rash. 3 doctors looked at each other & said they didn't know what it was, wouldn't "touch" me even with gloves on & treated me like a leper! After I signed some papers, the clerk looked at me & my rash & said I could keep the pen! How rude! They gave me some antibiotics to take "just in case" & sent me home with an appt to see a dermatologist. Went to him the next day, he took a biopsy. Spoke with the dermatologist the next day as per his instructions. A few days later, in much worse condition, called the dermatologist & he did not return my call. I went back to the ER. This time I went to Presbyterian in Huntersville. What a difference!!! Very professional, thorough & caring staff. Wound up being admitted & transported to Presbyterian in Downtown Charlotte with an severe allergic reaction to Advil! They asked why I waited so long to come in, told them what had happened in the days prior & they just shook their heads. I would have been in very serious condition, which a much longer hospital stay, if I had waited 1 more day. I spent 4 days in the hospital for treatment. The staff was wonderful, can't say enough good things about them. The rheumatologist that I had was very good, follow-up care with him was excellent!

Presbyterian is MY choce for hospital & care hands down!

I'm currently being treated for cancer at Presbyterian in Charlotte. I have never met more compassionate, caring and professional people in any hospital in the states I have been at. Their billing department needs some improvement (but I've never met a hospital billing person that can get the bill right the first time!)

I agree...if I had to go to a hospital, Presbyterian it will be, hands down as well!

Default Thanks everyone !!!

Wow, I didn't realize I had that many choices relatively close to Davidson, and luckily they are all covered by my health insurance carrier. Thank all of you for your very helpful responses.

Hey Sara !! How the heck are you ? "Handsome" ? your eyes must have been tired that day, LOL. How's Aaron and the boys, we hope you are all doing fine. Believe me we're trying to get moving here, but the market is really dead. Hopefully we'll be down there next year, and hopefully toward the early part. How are your grandparents doing, do they like it there too ? Marge said to tell you all hello and hopes your all ok too. Oh, have you decorated that tree in your back yard yet like last year ???

Bill
