I intend to hang out downtown this weekend and may want to have a blast... enough of a blast to where I may not want to drive after hanging out, so are there any hotels within WALKING distance of downtown or the Epicentre? I do not live in Charlotte.

Aloft - smack dab in Epicentre. Very modern and reasonably priced (relative to other downtown locations). Have fun!

Yep. There's at least half a dozen hotels within walking distance of the Epicentre. Just google it and you'll find what you want. The Speed Street festival is happening as well. Be sure to check it out!

Aloft is a hip and loud party hotel right in the middle of Epicentre
The Ritz Carlton is really luxury right across the street.
The Omni is a little less luxurious right across the street.
Holiday inn up the block at 6th and College.
Dunhill is a historic one up on Tryon 2 blocks away
Hilton two blocks south
Marriott right at the square - one block away.
