New deli
Hey everyone I know everyone is always asking for good places to eat. Just wanted to say we ate at the Delancey Street Deli in the Fountains and the food is really good. If you stop by to eat make sure you say hello to the owners Frank and Arlene and welcome them to Charlotte!! They are nice people..

Delancey Street Deli
Nice people? Are you kidding? I went there for lunch today and the woman owner was so cold and unfriendly I will never return. The food was fine, although my Spinach salad was nothing but spinach. She checked me out and didn't say hello, how was your lunch, thanks for coming or even goodbye. However, she did ask the guy in line behind me how his food was while she was ringing me up. I got a sense the employees were miserable too.

I found $9.00 to be a bit pricey for the sandwich I had there the other day. (And the sandwich was nothing special.)
Maybe I'll give them a second chance, eventhough I think you get more for your $$$ at McAlister's. (IMO)

The reason why she is cold and unfriendly is because she does not want to live in the Charlotte area and wears her feelings on her shirtsleeve so to speak. She misses the northeast.....
Anyway, if you can get past that, the food is excellent, but very pricey.

Then she can go back. She will soon find out that the more miserable she is here, the less people will patronize her business.

Oh my. How odd. You know that old saying . . . no matter where you end up getting planted, put down roots and bloom.
There are a lot worse places to live than Charlotte. I know cause I have been there, Hee Hee.
Pretty sad if you run a business and are expecting the public to support you - when you don't even like the community that you are depending on to sustain you. What a strange attitude. Why start a business where you interact w/ the public if you don't like Southerners.

Just tell her to "Not let the door hit her where the good Lord split her".
People like her make Southern & Locals NOT like people from the Northeast and they also don't like the kind that say "This is how he did it"...who cares...you are in Charlotte. ADAPT or LEAVE!!! I-95 also goes NORTHBOUND!
And I think that Charlotte is a pretty accepting city as far as newcomers. ALL are welcome as long as you are nice and act like you have sense!

ROFL!!!! There used to be a bumper sticker . . .
You know - if you can't find a way to be happy here . . . I just don't know what to say! If you don't like Southerners (and I find that in itself perplexing) there are so many people from the NE who live here . . . you can surround yourself w/ people who probably lived somewhere near you in the NE.
I personally have so enjoyed meeting and becoming friends w/ newcomers here. I have a few close Southern friends who are like family . . . but I am meeting newcomers that I totally expect to be saying are my close friends 20 years from now.
You get back what you send out. Send out negativity . . . and it will be returned to you.
I would rather spread the LOVE! <old hippie at heart> Hand out flowers and smiles and affirmations . . . it doesn't mean we all don't have trials . . . being kind and upbeat and having faith - is a decision.
