Moving to the South Charlotte area in 2 weeks and will quickly need to purchase a new kitchen table and chairs and leather sota/sectional for the family room. Our buyer is purchasing these items from us so we will need to replace them very quickly when we arrive in Charlotte.

Any recommended, reputable furniture stores in the Ballantyne, Pineville or similar areas?

Thanks!!

There's a bunch of furniture stores all around the Carolina Place Mall. The biggest issue with those is there's usually a 6-8 week delay from when you order to when your furniture is ready. Some other options:

- IKEA (Northeast Charlotte)
- Craigslist
- There's some pre-owned stores in Matthews & Waxhaw. Don't know the names off the top of my head, but that would avoid the 6-8 week readiness issue

Thanks! Looking for new - not craigslist or retro - we're way too suburban to be "hip" - LOL!!

Just looking for a solid store with a good reputation and large selection.

Realize we may have to wait a few weeks for furniture - which is fine - we'll just get a lot of use out of the breakfast bar - but figured with a larger store we may have a better chance of items being in stock or at least a shorter wait time.

For the largest selection of furniture in one concentrated area, head to Pineville just next to Carolina Place Mall. There is an entire street dedicated to furniture stores. Ashley Furniture and Rooms to Go are comparable in quality and price - fairly low-end, basic furniture but nothing that will last more than a year or two. Havertys is a step up - mid priced and somewhat better quality in my opinion compared to Ashley and Rooms to Go. If you are looking for higher-end quality pieces that will last for years, check out Bassett, Thomasville, Ethan Allen, and Broyhill. And for a sofa/sectional specifically I would consider Lazy Boy. You can customize every stitch of what you want! If you would like to take a nice long drive out to deep Waxhaw, I would highly recommend "Waxhaw Furniture Factory Outlet". They are only open Thurs, Fri, Sat I believe. And they do not finance or deliver. But if you arrive early on a Thursday, you are likely to find a gorgeous $2500 dining room set for $600-$800. I have a Broyhill dining room set that I got there years ago - distressed solid hardwood, super super durable, gorgeous gorgeous set - looks like it came straight out of a Pottery Barn magazine. Got it for $700. Took 30 mins max to assemble and it is truly a lifetime furniture set. It's hit or miss sometimes. But the warehouse is HUGE and it is worth the drive just to wander around and check out the amazing deals. Good luck!!!

There are number of online stores available. Try Basset home furnishings, they have clearance sale available on dining ranges and other furniture items.

I really like Tyndall Furniture Gallery. Smaller store in Pineville and their main store is very near Ballantyne, across the state line in Fort Mill. Good quality furniture and they are usually willing to negotiate on pricing to some degree.
