I have a young family and we already live in Charlotte. We're considering a move between Cabarrus County and Matthews in the next 6 months.

So far we are leaning towards Cabarrus (Harrisburg), but the more I search this forum on information about Matthews, the more I like the sound of South Charlotte.

So I wanted to get a current opinion -

Which is the best part of Matthews to live in for a young family like us?

Where are the best/nicest neighborhoods in Matthews with regards to Elementary/Middle Schools, and in terms of homes between $350-$425k ( approx 3500-4000sq ft in size)?

In terms of schooling, test scores aren't everything for us - yes we want excellent academics, but we also like schools that involve the parents and that have a community feel.

We like Ballantyne, but it seems way too busy there in terms of traffic and getting around. If anyone has information on what Weddington and Stallings are like, that would be so useful too.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Some nice neighborhoods off Antioch-Church Rd, Weddington school district. Can't go wrong living in Weddington, Marvin, Cuthbertson school areas.

Appreciate the post. Just wanted to ask your opinion - how do you feel the areas you mention compare to Ballantyne (28277) in terms of schools and homes? Thanks again.
