There are 3 near the downtown park where the Beach Blast is held. What sort of food do you like?
ETA: They usually have food vendors too.
We'll probably grab lunch there but something for dinner. Nothing too fancy. I'm not a fan of seafood, steak or Indian food. Otherwise, we like independent restaurants, not chain. I read about Italian Garden. Have you been?

Or, is it better to eat in Gastonia?
Southern Chew is buffet style. They're on Cherokee St. Cherokee Grill is on Railroad St, next to the park. Mountain View is up the street on King St. It's like a diner in a building.
Honestly, I wouldn't go to Italian Garden. They opened this one in addition to their original site in Boiling Springs. That doesn't say good Italian to me.
There's a good Vietnamese restaurant nearby, I think it's Pho98. The owners use family recipes. they're up Gold St almost to York St.
If you want to go to Gastonia for dinner I'd suggest Nick's Steak & Seafood on South St just off Franklin Blvd. He usually has some good chicken dishes on his menus.
Some of these restaurants have menus online. Sorry I can't do a copy & paste for you.

Thank you. I will check them out. I did read about Nick's in Gastonia. Do you know about Sal's Pizza?

Sorry, don't know anything about Sal's. I don't eat out much. Nick's food is good if he has something that you'd want to try. Cherokee Grill might work for you.

I haven't heard anything, first hand, about the restaurants in Shelby. I've read some decent reviews of them, though. To be honest, from downtown Kings Mountain, it's closer to go to Gastonia.
