Thanks for all the replies and information. We went to Carolina Place tonight after work and did some shopping at JCP's. What a night and day difference from last nights trip to Statesville!

I love jcp merchandise and shop online and over the phone from there often. If I have to go to a store its the one at Carolina Place in Matthews. It's a very nice store imo.

Nice JCPenney stores are Carolina Place Mall, Eastridge Mall Gastonia, and Haywood Mall in Greenville, SC. JCP is currently improving their merchandise mix and marketing strategy, after a failed experiment last year when they abandoned coupons and weekly sales. And many stores were recently renovated, so hopefully they will get back on track. They are a nice basic store with good prices, and they made a mistake of trying to be too trendy like Macy's. Now they have a nice mix with brands such as Claiborne in the men's, along with their house brands of St. John's Bay and J. Ferrar. And good prices with the weekend sales and the coupons. I hope they make a comeback, as they are more reasonable than Macy's and Belk, unless you prefer more designer labels at those stores. But even at those stores, I tend to prefer the store brands such as Alfani, INC, Taso, and John Ashford at Macy's. Although I will sometimes purchase Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren Polo when on sale. And they do have certain special sales such as Friends and Family when the coupons will work on the designer labels at Belk and Macy's. You just have to look for it or ask. Otherwise they are overpriced. But Belk is a nice Charlotte based business; you just have to know how to shop smart at these stores.
