Seems that a lot of Charlotte fight clubs here are gaining State and National attention. Fight clubs was illegal up until 2008.

Nice exploitative headline. They know good and well what everyone thinks of when they hear "fight club" and it is not legal, regulated operations.

Not sure why they call MMA events "Underground fight clubs" when the events are held at public arenas and sanctioned by the state. When I think of "underground fight clubs" I think like the Brad Pitt movie, in some warehouse in the middle of nowhere or some back alley with only a select few.

I know its not the doing of the OP, but WNBC took a bad angle calling them fight clubs as MMA and UFC are not really fight clubs as its a sport with a mix of martial arts, grappling and striking.

I wished they followed the story with upcoming events as they are hard to know when they occur or we find them after the event.

Mooresville had there version for locals called the 'Tough man Contest' that was held beginning of year I only find out when it occurs from a flyer posted on window of abandon building in Huntersville. I dint see one for this year.

I would like to go and see Ian McCall, Fallon fox, Donald Cerrone, and Domonick Cruz whose peppering blows makes him one of the best fighters on the world.

Any upcoming matches of anyone in Charlotte?

That's what WCNC wants you to think so you'll read the article. If they just said MMA events, most everyone would just ignore it.
