I might have a job opportunity in Charlotte. My questions is, which areas of Charlotte are most conservative, safe, and clean? Wikepedia is noting that there is a high percentage of urban lifestyle in Charlotte. I want to avoid racial tensions as much as possible. A place where there is diversity but not to the extremes. Me thinks you know nothing about Charlotte with questions like these. You shouldn't be considering a move down here unless you want to appreciate all that the area offers....including diversity.

it's like Ferguson down here. Racial tension is high
Racial tension is not bad at all. Ballantyne, University City, Plaza Midwood, etc. Are all good areas. I would avoid areas such as Beatties Ford and Hidden Valley though. Very high crime rates.
I like South Charlotte, which includes the Ballantyne area. Good schools, retail, medical close by, etc. If you mean "conservative" as in voter registration being Republican, then that would also be South Charlotte.
However, as far as a good lifestyle, lovely neighborhoods, and closer to the city's center, there are many very comfortable, safe, convenient neighborhoods other than those in S. Charlotte. I would look at a crime map and let that be your litmus test as to what areas may be out of your personal comfort zone, along with spending some time with a good realtor who can introduce you to the various sections of the city.
Charlotte has never been known as a city filled with racial tensions. I think the ratio of white: minority is about 55:45 and our city government represents the make up of the community very well.

The "best place" to live in Charlotte is completely dependent upon your budget and job location.
