Default Best Value Guarantee

Bank of America has just introduced a program called "Best Value Guarantee".
If you apply with BofA, and close your morgage with another at a lower rate, Bank of America will pay you $250!

I agree, BofA has the best deals right now.

Try a credit union, they always have the best rates, as long as they have an in-house mortgage lending department, which many NC credit unions do not have.

Default thank you!

very helpful! If we go through the builders company they give up $1500 but their processing fees are so high that it evens out. I am trying to negotiate with them.

Try a website called bankrate. It's sort of a pain to muddle through (tons of advertising that you can't tell is an ad), but they'll give you a nice list of rates and fees from a bunch of companies based on different types of loans.

For a lot of people, it's wise to shop for the best mortgage PROGRAM, rather than just the best rate.

Whatever you do, use a LOCAL Mortgage originator.
