Gay Clubs In Charlotte? (university, club, bars)

Hi, just moved here not too long ago, just wondering if there any gay clubs/bars in the area, kind of curious to go b/c I never been to one before.

The main gay club would be Velocity on South Summit Ave off Morehead St. Scorpio's is open only Wednesday & Sunday nights and is on Freedom Drive.

There's a new place that just opened on University City Blvd called Studio Diesel but I think its mostly women.

Velocity is good. I'm not gay, but it is very "mixed" and my fiance and I have been several times. They have a killer sound system, a smoke free area, and a fresh air filtration system for the rest of the club, a patio, and a decent dance floor. Many big name dj's have played there like Tiesto, DJ Irene, the Crystal Method, etc. A more obscure place is the Eagle off of South Blvd. it's a gay leather bar, and that one I haven't been to. Scorpio's is good too and also has the dj events like they did on NYE.

Does Scorpio's still do those drag shows at midnight on Sundays? I knew some people in college who talked about those, but that was a long time ago.

Liasons is a nice club but it can be quite a meat market. My wife & I met some friends there for drinks & I had eyes on me from the moment I walked in the door.
