Going to be passing thru area in April so was wondering what should I make sure I see. Will have two kids 10 and 12 with us. Never been before. We love being outside and historic places. Any help thanks. Will have a car so wondering if any of the lakes worth a day trip too.

The Kings Mountain battlefield national park. It's down the road from exit 2 of I 85.

My kids LOVED Discovery Place. They keep asking to go back. We visited Lake Wylie but it's not a 'destination' type place.......

Historic Brattonsville would be near the top of my choices.

Outdoor type stuff the WhiteWater center is great for outdoor activities from rafting to mountain biking.
