Curious to know if anyone has thoughts on what the market, climate and overall quality of life willl be like in about a year or so in charlotte. WE drove thru charlotte this year comming in from columbia, sc and loved the skyline and such.

I have always thought about it. However, that plan may not come into fruition for about a year. Hows the real estate market..hotter than ever or are things starting to slump a bit.

How is the quality of life for the transplants..mine will be a corporate relo so we will be taken care of..but its about a year away. How does everyone like the move? Happy, indifferent, wished you didnt make the move?

It seems new construction prices are going up every month. and resales are not budging either on price. Charlotte is different more imports are driving the prices.

I agree with CharlotteAgent...this year has been a very good year in this market. I think it was most noticeable (at least in my area) in terms of resales, with prices coming up and less time on market.

Yahoo! They actually had an article in a NY paper last month about how many people were moving to Union County. And to think people thought I was crazy when I moved here 8 years ago. Guess it's not such a well-kept secret anymore

LOL Thanks to this board the secret of Union County is out! I will be taking a look Thanksgiving weekend. I am visiting family that weekend in Mooresville.

I'm not able to move yet but meanwhile I like to keep myself educated on the different areas.

Hope you have a great trip!! Keeping yourself updated and learning more info over time is the best way to be sure when you do make the move that you will pick the right place for yourself Have fun! Be sure to ride Providence Road (hwy 16) all the way from 485 down to Waxhaw to see how pretty Union County is.
