Me and my fiancé are looking to relocate to Charlotte this up coming summer from Phoenix. If anybody can maybe help me with some suggestion's on a cheap and safe apartment near Charlotte or the surrounding area I would appreciate it. There's a chance we might not have a job but being so far away its super tough to get one so we are taking a chance! Any help would be awesome!

Thank you
Dave

As long as you don't have huge bills to pay (like student loans or a baby on the way), now is the time to "take a chance" on something new

However, I suggest you have at least $5000 saved up to live on before you come and do what you can to get a job right before you leave AZ.

Rent in Charlotte is not cheap, plan to need to spend $750 at a minimum okay?

Or be willing to work stocking/cashiering until you can secure jobs in your fields of experience. I wouldn't recommend moving without jobs but it's your choice of course. Good luck!

Hey Dave! I moved to Phoenix from Charlotte years ago and am considering a move back as well. I just spoke yesterday to a friend who lives there and I believe he had a rental unit available. DM me and I will try to hook you up with him.

If you tell us your budget for housing I might be able to list a few complexes for you to check out

That's pretty tight for the Charlotte market I'm afraid.

Maybe by June things will be a little more competitive, but do what you can to get your budget up a bit between now and then. You can find places in that price but they aren't going to be without varying issues.

There are places available, small places with 1BR, in that price range. Some of the older apt complexes (built in the 80's) have finally started running a few move-in specials now that so many new apt complexes are being built. If the rent is below $600, chances are the area is questionable. Like Phoenix, or any city, it's low for a reason. $725 is right on the border but if you look hard enough, you may be able to find something in a decent area. Be aware that some apt complexes are luring you in with attractive sounding rent specials only to add on that extra $150 monthly fee for water and sewer and whatever else they can. The Conner Group, who own 5 or 6 older apt complexes, are notorious for that.
