I am looking to move my mare to a closer location to where I live. I am in my mid 30's and have 2 girls who like to ride too. Although my mare is not really their riding horse, I would like to find a place that might have a calm, well behaved lesson horse, preferably English riding although I enjoy both. I am highly responsible and respect others like they were family. My most important factor is the care she will get. Since I can't have her at my house-not zoned for horses- I would only want the next best thing for her. I want to have her at a barn where horses are their obvious passion. I would like her to be at a barn where things are kept neat and in order. It doesn't have to be fancy but care of the horses should be evident. I want to know that she is happy where she is and will NEVER be abused. Does anyone have any suggestions on barn/stables? Is there stables where partial board is an option, where I might be able to rent the stall/pasture but do everthing else on my own with occasional help when I go away on trips to feed her/turn her out? I am flexible either way. If there is also any barns that could use help either in exchange for board or paid that would also be an option as I would be available 7:30a-12:30p M-F. Thank you for any help you might have.

Default suggestion of place to call

There is a feed and tack store in Mint Hill, the Woof and Hoof and the lady who owns it is a wealth of knowledge. You can probably get the number off the internet or call information. Explain your situation to her and ask for more than one suggestion of barns close by. I am sure she'll have some names and numbers. There's a new barn Cheval off of Lawyers and Thompson Rd, but it's pricy. You could call and see what they charge though. I'm sure that info. is free.

Exclamation Stables near Mint Hill, NC

Hi and thank you for the information. I went there the other day and got at least 5 post it notes full. I should be able to find something. Yes, I think Cheval is $800.00 month, ouch and no ENCLOSED indoor arena, just a cover over head. For the price, you would think they would have an even nicer facility with more amentities. Maybe that is in their future plans, I'd hope. Yes, the barn is gorgeous but it's not all about just housing your horse. The amentities has a big impact too, especially with the neighborhood it is linked to (MILLION PLUS HOMES!). I am not impressed with the place other than the barn. I might pay $400-500 month there but $800.00 is CRAZY!!!
