I got my son an inground basketball goal for Christmas. I've only seen a couple of places that do installation and they charge $300 and up. I only paid $300 for the basketball goal. Looking for someone to do it for cheaper than $300.
Please don't recommend I do it myself. That isn't an option. I need someone to install it for me.

well, it is so easy to install (like a mailbox post) that you can probably find a handyman on craigslist.

$300 does sound a little high. Just keep in mind the concrete bags alone will total around $40-50 by themselves. Mine took 8 bags at $5 per bag.

Very Stupid and dangerous advice!

TravelingrlClt needs a "craigslist handyman" to install goal post? Apparently she does not have a husband, so I'm sure the "craigslist" handyman would like to do more than install a goal post!

How about asking her neighbor?

It is more than juts installing the post.
You have to get the backboard up and bolt it down, then the rim after the post is set.
Definitely a two man job and not as simple as it may seem on the surface of things.

If $300.00 is the average estimate after getting several estimates, pay the money.
It s worth it to get the project done, get it behind you, and get it done right.

Someone suggested using CL for a handyman service, that's an idea, but you have to deal with everything that comes with CL. Which can be a scary thing.

The other option is to sign up for Angie's List and find a handyman that way. There are a ton of handymen on Angie's list and their services are reviewed by other uses.

I haven't used a handyman from there, but I've used other services and have been pleased with everything we've had done.

If I was looking to hire out this job I would call a few fence companies around town. They have everything needed to do this job.

This guy is in the Raleigh area, but all he does is install basketball goals. He installs all over Carolinas.
