With Att and considering it but have the added wrinkle of being grandfathered into into unlimited data. Thoughts?

Maybe they are better now, but there is a reason Sprint is cheap, their coverage stinks in the Charlotte area.

It is pretty garbage everywhere I used to have it. Miami, Charleston, Asheville, and Charlotte it sucked in all of them. Also this promotion is a non contract plan so you pay full price for your phones.

Don't do it. Sprint is the worst of the 4 major carriers in the Charlotte area. A good tool to use for comparing the carriers is Home | RootMetrics. There you can see that Sprint is not only the worst in Charlotte but also in most other metro areas around the country.

If your looking to save a little and escape from AT&T I would recommend you check out Cricket. AT&T bought them out so now they use all of at&t's towers and phones so you'd have the same coverage that you have now but much cheaper. You can also check out T-Mobile since they're cheaper and offer true unlimited data.

I've had Sprint since 2001. As other posters have told you their voice service isn't good here in metro Charlotte. I stick with them for the unlimited data rate for my phone. I use my phone more for the internet than for voice so it works out pretty well. If you have a tablet though you're going to be paying just as much as you would if you stay with your current carrier. Not much of an incentive to quit your present carrier is it?

I thought about switching also but after looking at the coverage maps, it looks like Sprint has horrible coverage.

I have also heard the unlimited data isn't truly unlimited because they throttle the speed to a crawl once users hit a certain data limit. Can anyone confirm this?
