I've been there a few times as it's only 5 miles from where I live. First time was for the Christmas lights which was pretty neat and worth it to drive through IMO and then 3 times I think for visits with my son. We even had his 5th birthday party there last year. For younger kids they'll like it quite a bit I think and there is a decent variety of animals to see for a small zoo. It's not going to win any awards for scenery or landscaping but it's a fairly inexpensive and fun way to spend an afternoon.
There's also Lazy 5 down the road from Mooresville on 150 that's pretty cool as well. It's much larger as you either drive through it or go on a wagon, I recommend the wagon on a decent weather day.
I love me some Lazy 5, Im glad there another option and I like Tanglewood but its not worth the $$ unless you have a car load . Cool this area has optioons.
