I believe you, more than you know! I used to work for one of the major hospital systems in this area. There were times I wouldn't have been comfortable taking my dog there. I was just wondering if it was possible.

FYI...Lately, many doctors have started admitting to hospitalists or doctors specializing in exclusively hospitalized patents. The basic concept is that hospitalists admit, manage, and discharge patients (consulting with primary care physician at all times). That may be something you want consider when choosing a physician.

I took my son there for diagnostic testing and was more than pleased. I can't comment about a hospital stay though.

Default private practice physician

Personally I love Dr. Matthew Acamporo. He is in private practice. He's not owned by any hospital. His wife is his administrator, she has a nursing degree, but she handles running the office. He works M-F but he does close early on Fridays. Some days he opens really early around 7 AM. I never feel rushed when I'm in there. He's very knowledgeable and he's always researching to see if there's anything better to help people. He has a very diverse patient base. I have seen teenage boys and little old ladies and gentlemen who appear to be in their 90's of every race. His office staff remembers my name, my childrens name and they are very accomodating when it comes to scheduling appts.
The clinic is Acamporo Internal Medicine and he's at the Arboretum area. In the same retail area where Horizen eye care and Quizno subs is.

MJ - Did you find one you liked? I would love to hear your feedback about some of these docs just incase we ever need one (of course everyone needs a family doc).

I see Dr. Erika Bono who is great, but is located near the main CMC campus not near Ballantyne. She listens, does not rush you and they do blood work down the hall from the examening room. She is a member of the Charlotte Medical Clinic. I like this practice because, in addition to primary care physicians, they have most of the common specialists. This is a real asset in my mind because all of your records are together in their offices and the doctors know each other and can easily communicate. Wherever you decide to go, go to a practice which has the major specialists so that you can have communication between your doctors. Lack of communication is one of the main weaknesses in our current broken medical system. Above all don't have one doctor going to Presby and another to CMC. This presents so many problems. I am preaching (a retired prof am I) but have had TOO much experience with the medical structure, not to pass on what I've learned over the past umpteen years.
Just yesterday I switched my GI doctor to a Char. Med. Clinic physician so that I would further consolidate my doctors and records.
Hope this helps.

Default So far I liked Dr. Sharma

I am not thrilled with the hospital they admit to but I could get her to go to another if I wanted. Also, as in any case you really have to be on top of your health. I don't wait for them to give me a referral to a specialist and I told her that so she was okay with it and didn't feel slighted. I like that she is very close to my house for when I have something small going on. The lab is there and the staff are nice. She also treats with natural remedies first which is important to me. She also let me pick the bloowork which I wanted and didn't feel like I was doing her job. It was collabrative and some drs. are just jerks and think they are the ones that know everything which I definitely didn't want. She was great to work with and is very nice.
