Hello All,

I wanted to say that after a year of research on this data forum and visiting Charlotte we are finally down here and moved in! Thank you so much for all the wonderful advice and help. We have had such a positive experience so far. My daughter, 5 years has adjusted so well to her new school. It's wonderful! We're so close to everything and the weather has been terrific. A local grocer welcomed us with fresh gourmet pasta and it was so good!

We plan on staying here permanently so although I will be back for some more advice and maybe to offer some advice to others I just wanted to take a moment and say that this forum has been a huge help and this is truly a great city! Now, hopefully I will find a job in no time (thankfully my DH is employed so things are okay.).

Thanks again!

Congratulations! I am so happy to hear things have gone so well for your family. What area did you locate to? What school is your daughter attending? We are relocating this summer and are very excited!

I too am glad to hear the experience has been great and hope that my move goes as swimmingly for my family. Particualrly after reading such dreaded threads about how bad the crime is in NC. I will be vomoving down this summer too. K&KsMom what area are you relocating to? I am going to Waxhaw.

Narrowed our search down to either Davidson, NC or Fort Mill SC. It is going to depend on where I get hired for a teaching position. I was leaning towards Davidson but just got an email from Fort Mill requesting my resume and application......so who knows!!!

That's great, we have 5 months to go too. So I hope it goes as smooth as yours. Tisquato the crime reports has me a little afraid too . But I know that no where is perfect. I am starting to get butterflies, although it's a few months away, is that happening to you too?
